FAQs

There are over 3 million slaves in Pakistan. They are referred to as “bonded laborers” and are forced to make a thousand bricks a day to pay off their debt. Children work alongside their parents to meet the daily quota; the majority have never been to school.
-
Bonded laborers are among the poorest of the poor in Pakistan. In extreme cases of desperation, families borrow money from the brick kiln owners. The families typically move onsite and are charged rent. High interest on the loans make payback nearly impossible.
-
With the help of modern-day abolitionists like you, we negotiate with the brick kiln owners and literally pay off their debt. Some families have been slaves in the brick kilns for 30, 40, even 50 years. Many children were born into the kilns, never knowing freedom, until now.

Approximately $2000. The average cost to redeem one individual from a lifetime of slavery is about $100. And it costs another $300 for two years of aftercare. The average size of a family we rescue is five; thus, 5 family members x $400 to rescue, resettle, and restore = $2000
-
The rescue is only the beginning. Our goal is to walk alongside these families with 2 years of aftercare. Together, we provide food and shelter, an income-producing business for the parents, and education for the children; within a small community model for long-term sustainability.
